IMPORT EXPORT CODE REGISTRATION

Import Export Code Registration

At NGVR and Company, we aim to provide services that cater not only to domestic businesses but also to those expanding into international markets. Before venturing globally, several procedures and regulations must be followed, and various registrations or licenses need to be obtained. One essential requirement for both imports and exports from India is the Import Export Code (IEC). The IEC is issued for a lifetime and does not require renewal.

Why is IEC Important?

  • For customs clearance of shipments by an importer.
  • For dispatching shipments from the customs port by an exporter.
  • For receiving payments in foreign currency directly into the exporter’s bank account.
  • To avail benefits on imports and exports from authorities such as Customs and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

Documents/Information Required for Registration

  • A copy of the Permanent Account Number (PAN) card (for Individuals, Firms, or Companies).
  • Aadhar Card, Passport, or Voter ID (for Proprietors).
  • Address proof of the firm. If the address is not in the name of the applicant firm, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the owner of the premises is required along with the address proof, submitted as a single PDF document.
  • A bank certificate or a pre-printed cancelled cheque.
  • Contact details: Mobile number and email ID for all individuals, directors, or partners.
  • One of the following documents:
    • Sale deed
    • Rent agreement
    • Lease deed
    • Electricity bill
    • Telephone bill
    • Mobile postpaid bill
    • Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
    • Partnership deed
